We came to SouthStar to build an ADU on my grandparents property. At first we considered getting a manufactured home vs. an ADU. John and his team were extremely knowledgeable and not pushy.
We ultimately went with SouthStar for the ADU build out and couldn’t be more happy with the results. He was able to work within our budget and still give us a beautiful finished product. You can probably find someone cheaper, but you get what you pay for. Save yourself the headache.

I hired another contractor who left me with a huge mess -unfinished and unpermitted work. John was referred to me and has been absolutely incredible with getting my renovation back on track, he not only gave me advice but helped me get to the point where am finally feeling like there is a light at the end of this nightmare of a renovation. Got our first quote from John the owner of the company he was straight forward and recommended that we get other estimates but he backs the quality of his work. Spoke with a few different contractors for our remodel and decided to go with SouthStar, there was constant communication throughout the whole process. The company did a great job and I would 100% recommend them to my friends and family, great family company!

Well, it wasn’t easy working with the city of Norco on building at 900 ft.², two bedroom, two bath ADU in our backyard but we got it done! Thanks, John, and all the Southstar Construction workers who made this happen and worked through a number of challenging situations that occurred along this journey! I don’t know if I do it again, but if I did, I would certainly rely on John and Southstar to get the job done and get it done right.

If you're looking for honest contractors who have customer service in mind, this is the company to choose. I had an issue with a sagging joist in my bedroom floor which was visible from the ceiling below. I was able to cut out the ceiling on my own, take photographs of my issue, and send them over, without requiring an in person inspection. Afterwards, I received honest and sound advice as to what needed to be done to fix the joist. While the work has not yet been completed, I appreciated the quick, honest, and free advice. Even when I offered to pay, they said it would not be necessary and they were just happy to help. I strongly recommend Southstar simply based on this experience alone.

Southstar Construction did a wonderful job in building my ADU in Fontana. John the Project Manager was proactive during the whole process; from the plans, design, permits, to construction, and through the final city approvals. His crew were very talented and professional; knew exactly what they were doing. The team gave me feedback when I was unsure. They were very good communicators and were available to answer any questions that I had. It has just the right amount of space for me. Just had two bathrooms remodeling projects completed by Rizk Construction, a master bathroom and a full bathroom. Rizk Construction is the real deal, John and his crew are the A-Team! Their work was excellent. The quote was competitive, the team showed up on time everyday, were highly professional and pleasant to deal with and were very attentive to detail. Not one minor detail was skipped over, everything was discussed with us during the project to ensure the final product was to our satisfaction. The pictures speak for themselves. John Rizk’s construction company remodeled our kitchen and did an excellent job. They demolished the old cabinets and countertops, hauled the old stuff away, and installed new cabinets and quartz countertops. The new cabinets are in perfect condition and have soft closing drawers and cabinet doors.
The electrical work was top notch and a lot of old issues were fixed including lining up all the outlets and light fixtures, which were previously uneven.
The employees arrived on time each day, were clean, friendly, and respectful and they cleaned up at the end of each day. They were a pleasure to have over each day and trustworthy. I had a room take the brunt of water damage via a mysterious roof leak during the 2022-2023 southern California rain storms. 4 months later Rizk construction to the rescue. Found the leak, repaired the sub floor and was able to find some beautiful re-carpet of my upstairs.
John was punctual, up front and was exceptionally professional having succinct yet exact contracts in the scope of work that was done.
